Link Building With Expired Domains

According to Matt Cutts, "PageRank is the primary factor determining whether a URL is in the main web index vs. the supplemental results, so I’d concentrate on good backlinks more than worrying about varying page layouts, etc.". This reconfirmed the love of Google for good backlinks and PR still holds the decisive edge factor in it.

Now did you know that old trusted expired domains can do the trick for it ? Now comes the way for it. I am putting it down in few simple steps.

1.Choose your favourite seller like pool.com, snapnames.com, deleteddomains.com, expireddomains.com, wehavethem.com , Godaddy. For me, GoDaddy is ideal .They are cheap and have huge inventory of domains .

2. Do a bit of research using tools using tools like HTML Editor (WYSIWYG)
Text Editor
SEOCHat’s PR Lookup
Marketleap.com Link Pop
Archive.org and make sure that the domains are viable for you . Make sure to check the Inbound and Outbound link of the domains using some online tools . For me, I have seen that having primary keyword in url of the expired domains feels good for your main Website. Prepare a list of such domains and arrange it in a notepad. Watch out for domain with only a single backlink domain or sitewide links from a single (or very few domains)... the owner auctioning can easily remove links from his own network - much hard to do this from other people's links.

3. Now copy all the urls from the notepad and put in Some bulk IP checker tools and check the respective Page Ranks.

4. Now keep a note of the respective quantity of backlinks from Yahoo site Explorer and check all the backlinks manually to make sure that none of the links are removed with anchored text.. Check both www and non www versions for the backlinks though.

5 . Next comes the most difficult part, Optimal Selection from your big list. Choose top three/four domains(depending on your buying budget) , buy them and make a 301 redirect to your main website.

Link Wheel - An short introspection

Many of the webmasters have deceptive ideas about Link Wheel. Some of them thought Link Wheel as Link farms or some Black-hat fuzzy technique. Now what is Link Wheel?
Link Wheel is a collection of 6 web 2.0 sites having Good Page Rank connected together to your main website. The "hub" is any page on your website. On each of the 6 sites on the outer wheel we add content optimized around a single theme - a single keyword phrase.
Develop a quality article and submit to Ezine Articles which will create chance of linking back to your site. Next phase is, create 6 versions of Spinned Articles from the main article using some Content Generator and submit it to web 2.0 sites which will link back to your main article.
That's the whole funda of Link Wheel.

Things which you must avoid in your link Building Campaign

1.Avoid link farms. Any resource page can be termed as Link Farm if it contains more than 100 links
2.Keep far away from non relevant links. They have very little SEO value.
3.Your linking page is not easily accessible from home page ,your link is located in deep down .
4.Link should be followed with a proper meaningful description . Link without description is not at all deserved.
5.One way traffic feeders link page is another major link Scam where your linked location is not at all a part of the main website. Avoid such sites.
6.Don't trade with Sex,poker, casino and gambling related sites.
7.Avoid FFA sites.
8.If you are using shared server, double-check with that to ensure that you are not with any banned sites.
9.Don't take link from unranked inner page . Your linking page must contain minimum PR value of 1 below your landing page, particularly if there are going to be other outbound links to other web sites . Don't take link from a page having more than 50 outbound links.

Myth between Link Building & IP address

Many webmasters are confused that if they get backlink from Same Class C IP address, their link will be devalued by Google Algorithm. But is this is the real case? Let's research a bit .Let's hear fro someone from Google.
I hear that there was recently a discussion on a NANOG (North American Network Operators Group) email list about virtual hosting vs. dedicated IP addresses. They were commenting on the misconception that having multiple sites hosted on the same IP address will in some way affect the PageRanks of those sites. There is no PageRank difference whatsoever between these two cases (virtual hosting vs. a dedicated IP). Someone on the email discussion already dug out this Slashdot interview from mid-2003 with Craig Silverstein, Google’s Director of Technology. I refer to question 5, in which someone asked

Why in this day and age does google continue to penalize sites that are virtual hosted? With ip addresses becoming harder to get/justify every day why does google discount the relevance of links that don’t come from a unique ip address. Please don’t just deny it, I think the Internet community deserves an explanation.

Craig’s reply was as follows:

I can’t just deny it? What are my other choices? :) Actually, Google handles virtually hosted domains and their links just the same as domains on unique IP addresses. If your ISP does virtual hosting correctly, you’ll never see a difference between the two cases. We do see a small percentage of ISPs every month that misconfigure their virtual hosting, which might account for this persistent misperception–thanks for giving me the chance to dispel a myth!

I’m happy to affirm that this statement which was true in 2003 is still true now. Links to virtually hosted domains are treated the same as links to domains on dedicated IP addresses.
